MusicPin’s latest campaign is with UK’s Prince of Grime – Tinchy Stryder.
The story of the Prince of Grime’s rise to chart topping success is extraordinary. The single ‘Stryderman’ made the Radio One playlist in early 2008. Island Records signed him. The follow up single, ‘Take Me Back’, went to Number 3 and when it did, Tinchy was still at the University Of East London studying for a degree in digital arts and the moving image. A third single featuring N-Dubz, ‘Number One’, went to Number 1, as did ‘Never Leave You’. His second album, ‘Catch 22’, debuted in the charts at number 2 and went gold.
What is Tinchy Stryder going to do next? Release a new album. The street single Gangsta has already been released on iTunes to considerable acclaim, the first single proper, a brilliant collaboration with producer Fraser T Smith called’ In My System’ is, as Tinchy correctly notes, “mad different”, while the rest of the album promises to be "deeper and darker than Catch 22.
